| We welcome visitors to the Medical Center.  Visitors can play an important role in the recovery process. However, rest has an important role in recovery as well. We request that you have no more than two visitors at a time in your room. Your guests will be asked to wait outside the room during an examination or treatment. Visitation by children under the age of 12 years old is discouraged. Halifax Regional allows a family member, friend, or other individual to be present wiht the patient for emotional support during the course of stay. Halifax Regional allows for the presents of a support individual of the patient’s choice, unless the individual’s presence infringes on others’ rights, safety, or is medically or therapeutically contraindicated. We ask that our guests observe a few guidelines so their time in the Medical Center will be safe and beneficial to patients.
