Laboratory

Halifax Regional’s Diagnostic Laboratory is located on the first floor near Outpatient Registration.  The Laboratory provides anatomic pathology and clinical lab analysis and evaluations to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring a variety of medical conditions.  Most tests performed in the Laboratory will require a small blood sample.  Specially trained staff will perform venipunctures, or will collect blood from the finger or heel.  The Laboratory Department will also test specimens such as urine samples, throat cultures, biopsies, and various other samples.
The Laboratory is open to outpatients: Monday - Friday 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Inpatient services are available 24 hours a day
