WORKPLACE SAFETY CONFERENCE SET FOR JUNE 22
Halifax Regional Sponsors Event for Businesses

 

ROANOKE RAPIDS, NC – (June 12, 2007) – Halifax Regional is inviting all businesses in the Roanoke Valley to attend a conference on occupational health June 22.
The conference is entitled, “Safety in the Workplace: It’s No Accident.”  It is presented free of charge to businesses as a service of Halifax Works, the Medical Center’s occupational health program.
The conference will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Chockoyotte Country Club in Weldon. Lunch will be served.  Those planning to attend should call 252.535.8463 to reserve a space.
Speaking will be two experts from the North Carolina Industrial Commission.  Karissa Davan will explain “the Life of a Claim,” and Dennis Parnell will describe a “Safety Attitude and Zero Accidents.”
Halifax Works opened in 2000, providing custom designed plans for businesses in the Valley, in addition to standard services including workers’ compensation injuries, drug and breath alcohol testing, vision and hearing testing, and job physicals.
