Halifax Regional Medical Center Accredited by JCAHO
Halifax Regional Medical Center will maintain its accreditation with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) after completion of a three-day survey recently.
“We congratulate our employees and medical staff who have worked so hard to achieve compliance with the extensive elements of performance that make up the Joint Commission standards,” said Medical Center CEO Will Mahone.
Halifax Regional officials are anticipating they will receive several recommendations for improvement as a result of the survey. “We appreciate the thorough review that the Joint Commission’s survey process provides and we welcome these opportunities to improve our facility and our services to the community,” said Mahone. He reports that all recommendations for improvement will be addressed by June.
“The JCAHO surveyors were very complimentary of our staff for their confidence and caring. We have very dedicated employees, physicians, and board members, which was very obvious to our survey team,” said Mahone.
Halifax Regional will receive a final survey report in two to four weeks.
