HALIFAX REGIONAL’S FIRST MRI TECHNOLOGIST
Tim Grant becomes Certified MRI Technologist
ROANOKE RAPIDS, NC – (January 1, 2007) – Tim Grant, a six year employee at Halifax Regional, has recently completed a certification course to become an MRI Technologist.
The Medical Center will open its new MRI Imaging Center at 210 Smith Church Road in Roanoke Rapids later this month. As the first employee at the Medical Center to finish the six-month long study offered by Edgecombe Community College, Grant will lead a staff of employees in providing diagnostic imaging services to patients.
“I have really enjoyed the opportunity to plan for the new MRI facility,” said Grant. “It has been fascinating to see this project grow from a simple idea to a completed Imaging Center.” Grant has worked with the management and administration at Halifax Regional through the planning and construction phases of the facility. “The new MRI is a great addition to the list of imaging equipment that will be beneficial to our patients,” he added.
In Grant’s six years of employment at the Medical Center, he has gained experience with many diagnostic imaging devices. He has also offered a benefit to the Medical Center and his co-workers as a Basic Life Support instructor. His most recent duties at the Medical Center included many hours in the operating room, where he controlled a specialized x-ray machine known as a C-Arm. “The C-Arm and our new MRI equipment both utilize the same software and made the transition from one to the other very easy,” Grant said.
The new MRI Center will be opening in mid January. Grant and the other staff members at the new Imaging Center will be ready to provide a vital service to the patients when the doors open.
