HALIFAX REGIONAL’S HIV/AIDS CASE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
ROANOKE RAPIDS, NC – (January 21, 2007) – The HIV/AIDS Case Management program at Halifax Regional has received a gift of $250 from the Gregory B. Davis Foundation of Silver Springs, MD, but originated in Garysburg, NC. The HIV/AIDS Case Management program at Halifax Regional is a program supported by grants that helps patients with HIV and AIDS navigate daily activities required to cope with the disease. Teaching patients the importance of complying with physician appointments and medications, along with facilitating regular support groups are a few examples of how the program helps its patients. ”Being diagnosed with HIV or AIDS can be devastating,” said Misty Lane, HIV/AIDS Program Coordinator at Halifax Regional. “Many of the patients that we work with have no idea where to turn or what they need to do once diagnosed,” she added. The funds received from the Gregory B. Davis Foundation will be used for direct patient services so the program can fulfill its mission of helping those with HIV/AIDS.
