Halifax Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Contributes to Health Science Programs at area schools ROANOKE RAPIDS, NC – (February 20, 2007) – The Halifax Regional Medical Center Auxiliary recently awarded grants to the Health Science Programs at five high schools in the Roanoke Valley. The grants, each for $300, were presented to the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) programs at Roanoke Rapids, Southeast Halifax, Northwest Halifax, and Northampton East, and Northampton West High Schools. The money will be used by each school to purchase supplies and for expenses to attend educational meetings sponsored by HOSA. Money for the grants was raised through various Auxiliary’s projects and from the sales at the Pines Gift Shop in the Medical Center. “We hope these grants will help further the education of theses future healthcare workers,” said Mary Nooney, Auxiliary Scholarship Chair.
