Sports Medicine Physician Opens Office in Roanoke Rapids
ROANOKE RAPIDS, NC – (April 26, 2007) – John S. Moss, MD, orthopedic surgeon and specialist in sports medicine, has joined Richard Holm, MD in the practice of orthopedics in Roanoke Rapids. Moss is the first sports medicine specialist to have an office in Roanoke Rapids. Moss practiced medicine for 23 years in Fredericksburg, VA, where he specialized in sports injuries. “This is a specialty area of orthopedics devoted to treating and preventing the injuries received by persons participating in physical activity,” said Moss. Moss also will practice general orthopedics with Holm and Hutchins. “Patients will benefit from his knowledge and experience,” said Holm. “His presence definitely will help shape the future of medicine in our region.” Moss is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia and also completed his residency there. His orthopedic residency was at MCV with rotations at Children’s Hospital in Richmond. He completed an arthroscopy surgical fellowship at Orthopedic Research of Virginia with Dr. Richard Caspari.
