HALIFAX REGIONAL REMODELS NURSING STATION
Patients Appreciate Quiet Rooms

 


ROANOKE RAPIDS, NC – (September 4, 2007) – Halifax Regional recently completed remodeling the nursing station and reception area on the third floor of the Medical Center.

“All of us on the third floor staff are very pleased with our new look,” said Mike Joyner, RN, Nursing Manager. “The increased lighting will provide a more functional work space, and the additional privacy has allowed us to provide more security for patient information. The arrangement also helps to decrease noise levels so that patients may rest more comfortably,” he added.

The nursing station has increased privacy for nurses who are working on patient charts. Physicians have more space, and there is a dedicated area for case managers to concentrate on the flow of patients. The remodeling includes new flooring and wallpaper and lighting, in addition to a new nurse call system.

The remodeled nursing station is one of a series of planned improvements at the Medical Center designed to increase the quality of service to patients while reducing workflow restrictions on the staff.
